Guardiões da Criação is a book that explores the diversity, beauty, and challenges of each of Brazil’s six terrestrial biomes. I was very happy to have the opportunity to illustrate this work, written by Susana Klassen and published by Mundo Cristão, since I’ve loved drawing animals ever since I was little and always imagined the legends and stories hidden in every piece of nature.

Each biome is introduced by a typical animal from the region and a guardian, who teach children and adults to celebrate and respect the beauties created by God. We journey through the Amazon, Cerrado, Caatinga, Atlantic Forest, Pantanal, and Pampas, learning that there is life, diversity, and richness in each of them, no matter how different they may be.
